Specialist for InterCommunity and Eastgate Cancer Centers in Cincinnati, for receiving a nomination as an Unsung Hero in the Oncology Professional Category.
The Unsung Hero Award will honor and celebrate the many acts of quiet heroism performed by cancer patients, the people who care for them or oncology professionals.
Cancer Family Care has honored over 300 Unsung Heroes since the first event held in 2002. “All nominees are heroes,” explained Cancer Family Care Executive Director, Brent Seelmeyer. “The purpose of the event is to recognize these special individuals who bring joy and hope to those who have experienced cancer.”
Donnas commitment and dedication to the Cincinnati community by way of Coco the Colossal Colon, a city wide event which was held in Cincinnati at the TriHealth Pavilion in March 2008, led to her nomination by Julie Isphording, who is a 1984 Olympian and also Spokesperson for Linder Center of Hope.
Cancer Family Care was founded in 1971 to serve the residents of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. It provides counseling and understanding to cancer patients and their families to help them cope with the devastating emotional impact of disease and loss.
